Tinka was a daughter of Johnny Geoghegan’s FTCh Lefanta Eva and his second Norwegian import – Storeskars II Odin, who was much less extensively used at stud than his predecessor Storeskars G’Snorre . From early on, I was very taken with Tinka, although she was quite slow to develop (this she shared with her brother Lefanta Odin, who was eventually 2nd in the Irish Championship with George Forbes and her sister Lefanta Niccoli who was owned by John Quirke). Her other sister Lefanta Kassy of Stanedge was an early maturing ESB. Could this maybe be due to the much greater quantity of game Kassy was exposed to in her early life in Yorkshire?
I always liked Tinka’s style, but it was quite unique, and I knew that when she began to take game, she would be a real contender as it turned out to be.
