Int FTCh Lefanta Kira

Kira as we all remember her – at full stretch.

Kira – or the pocket rocket – was a small ESB who didn’t know she was small!  She could run in any type of terrain and always with huge speed and verve.  She was bred by my great friend Johnny Geoghegan and traces back to his very similar Irish Championship winner FTCh Letanta Cindy.  Kira’s father was Lefanta Gift, who broke his leg at a young age and was never trialled.  However Johnny saw the importance of using him for breeding as he was a son of Johnny’s 1989 Irish Championship winner FTCh Lefanta Cindy and his then youthful FTCh Storeskars G’Snorre.  Kira’s mother was FTCh Lefanta Page – a litter sister of the famous Int FTCh Lefanta Patsy.  This litter were out of FTCh Knocksmall Blue Boy (out of FTCh The Blue Maestro) and FTCh The Queen (out of FTCh Storeskars G’Snorre).

Kira had a naughty streak and could make up her mind that the whole moor in front of her was not big enough and decide to quarter the mountains on either side for good measure.  However when she was on her best behaviour she was unbeatable.

Kira - the winner on Slieveanorra with Des Linton (IntFTCh Craigrua Osprey) and James Coyle (Koram Banner) who were 2nd and 3rd.
