FTCh Stanedge Brave

Here I am casting Stanedge Brave off in the GB Champion Stake at Bollihope Moor, Co Durham in 2009.

Brave is a son of my IntFTCh Gardenfield Warrior.  Daryl Edwards from Yorkshire had got a couple of good ESBs from Johnny Geoghegan and when the time came to breed them, he asked Johnny for advice and as a result we met up at the Championship Dinner in the Foulford Inn in Perthshire in 2004 and discussed options.  My advice was to use Warrior on his Lefanta ESB as I was really coming to appreciate what a good dog he was at that time.

Shortly afterwards Daryl made the trip to Donegal and the first Standedge litter arrived in January 2005.  Brave was my stud fee and he was collected by John Gilbert who was also getting a pup and given to me at Corrybroch estate at the end of the Spring circuit in 2005.  Hence he acquired the name Corry.  He was a super efficient dog with a style of his own.  Very rarely did he let me down and he was absolutely deadly in his game-sense.  He was a very different character to his brother Standege Bracken who came into my kennel 12 months later.
